Choose a Sod Blend Grown on Our Own Farm
Based on your lot’s soil type, availability of sun vs. shade, and your personal preference, we’ll recommend Super Turf Fescue Blend or Kentucky Bluegrass Blend.
If you have the time and equipment required to pick up and apply the sod yourself, take advantage of God’s Green Earth Sod’s affordable prices and quality products. If you want it professionally installed, TST, Inc will also do installation and replacing of SOD.
Watering New Sod
- Week 1:
• Below 80°F – 3X a day (6:00 AM, Noon, 6:00 PM)
• Above 80°F or windy – 4X a day (6:00AM, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 6:00 PM) - Week 2: 2X a day (6:00 AM, 6:00 PM)
- Week 3: 1X a day (6 AM)
- Week 4: 1X every other day
Mowing New Sod
Wait 2 weeks following installation to mow so roots take hold. Bag clippings after the first mowing. Never cut off more than 1/3 of blade height. It’s best to mow more frequently than to cut off too much at one time.
Fertilizing New Sod
Wait at least 2 weeks after watering begins. Apply a complete (N-P-K) fertilizer, which contains slow-release nitrogen.
We recommend starter fertilizer for the first year.
